Financial Aid Updates

COVID-19 Operations Update (05/18/2020):

The Financial Aid Office will resume our normal business hours beginning on Monday, May 18. We encourage all visitors to the office to practice social distancing. There is PPE available inside the main entrance to Bibb Graves Hall for visitors.

Merit Scholarships Renewals:

Due to COVID-19, returning students who receive merit scholarships will automatically have their merit scholarship renewed for the 2020-2021 year. Students will receive an email notification when the merit scholarship has been added to their account. Students can expect to see these on their accounts no later than July 1, 2020. This is a one-time exception to merit scholarship renewal requirements. GPA and credit hour completion requirements will apply for 2021-2022 renewals. Non-renewable scholarships will not be automatically renewed.

FAFSA Night Update (03/17/2020)

JSU is following social distancing protocol to help protect the University and others by slowing the potential spread of COVID-19. This includes moving classes online, canceling all events, avoiding large gatherings, canceling travel, and limiting personal contact.

The Financial Aid Office has canceled the previously scheduled FAFSA Night. As an alternative, we are offering Virtual FAFSA Filing Sessions! These sessions will be scheduled for 45 minutes. If you would like to schedule a session, please email finaid@jsu.edu with your availability. A JSU Financial Aid Counselor will respond to your request and provide more information on your session.
